Our Mission...
is to help operate a community-run league where safety and sportsmanship work hand in hand with friendly-competition and the improvement of our league and park. Since I first started playing here over a decade ago, I’ve come to really enjoy this sandlot, but have always thought it could be better. First as a player, and now as a coach, umpire, and league manager; I’ve probably spent too much time here, raking and picking up, sharing in the enjoyment of the game. But have still maintained hopes for this field to be the best it can be. It keeps me coming back. As I’ve made friendships with league members, I think we share these same feelings; no, it’s not the best field we’ve ever played on, but the atmosphere we’re a part of, in the center of the City, is like no other.
I invite you to be part of our league. The level of involvement is up to you. Maybe it’s just asking a question or providing some feedback. But, either way, we think having the teams involved will help reach our goal of making this field the best place to play. We’ll keep our costs low and share in our efforts and progress, but expect that each year we get closer to our field of dreams in KC, and together, with great partnerships, the KC Parks Dept., I don’t think we’re too far away.
